Rain

Though music and dance our souls are set free
We discover together who we'll eventually be
He dreamed of stealing the full moon and stars,
He captured the sunset, sang about it on guitar

He sang: "I'll give you sunshine,
And I'll help you through the pain,
But nothing seems to hurt you,
And I know that you'd prefer the rain"

Honesty helps us to realize our dreams
But when it comes to love, it's never what it seems
Feels feelings there's no way she understands
But he can't tell the difference and makes his own plans

He said: "I'll give you sunshine,
And I'll help you through the pain,
But nothing seems to hurt you,
And I know how much you like the rain"

Using the smile hidden behind his eyes,
Bright and shining - mirror joy and surprise
He smiles when she does and feels proud to be
The only man in the room who makes her feel happy

Somehow everyone else in the world knows he loves her
True intentions? She's too blind to discover
He senses her thoughts, he knows every expression
He'll never admit; there'll be no confession

He said: "I'd give you sunshine,
And I'd help you through your pain,
But nothing seems to hurt you,
And I know how much you love the rain"

He said: "I'd give her sunshine,
And I'd help her through the pain,
But nothing seems to hurt her,
And I know she only loves the rain"
